So one of my accounts got suspended about a week ago. Luckily it wasn't my biggest one, but it still sucks because it had about 40k followers. Does anyone know how to go about getting it unsuspended? I've emailed Twitter and opened up a support ticket but I still haven't heard back from them.

You will get it back, you just have to be patient. I think it took me 7-8 days to get my account back.

Can I ask you what yours was suspended for? Mine was for impersonation. It was a parody account of a large company's "macsot" or whatever and they suspended every similar parody at the same time.

I've had legitimate accounts banned before, contacted their support, and never heard back. I'm also curious to know if there's anything else that can be done to get unsuspended.

I had mine suspended for adding too many friends per day. I also thought i would never get the account back, although i did get it back, cant remeber how long it took, i think it was something like 7-10 days.

From what i gathered, you have to send them a ticket and just tell them your sorry and will not violate the twitter TOS again. Hope it helps, Good Luck.

If it was done for that reason, you probably won't get it back. Unless you can convince them that you can remove the impersonation part from the account.

Yeah this is exactly most of the accounts re-instated. i'm the one got a lot my accounts suspended in past and then re-instated just only sending them a ticket mentioning, I understand their rules and will abide by all the TOS in future. Twitter team seems to happen very moderate and almost reinstate any account if it was not hugely used to violate any common rules.

They suspended my personal account on report of a A-hole (local company). I contacted them via email and other old account but they never replied me but when I said I am sorry and I'll not violate the TOS after 15 days they un-suspended my account within few minutes.
Try your luck with their "un-suspended" form (the page you'll get when you try to login) maybe you'll get your account back too.

Kiss that account goodbye. Impersonation is a no no.

Well it was clearly stated in the bio that it was a parody with absolutely no affiliation with the company. If I understand correctly, parodies like that are allowed as long as they clearly state that there's no affiliation and don't try to mislead people into thinking it's really the person being parodied.

Steve Jobs and some very famous brands/actors parody accounts are still on Twitter. It's time to check the reason again.

Well the thing is that every parody of this particular company's mascot (at least 5 that I know of) were all taken down on the same day. So I know it was because of a complaint from the company.

And you (still) think that Twitter will reinstate your account?

Just curious OP, is this the second or so time you got banned?

I also run a parody account and I would hate to get mine taken down just because the 'company' wanted to. Keep us updated on what happens.

Have you told them in your letter that you are sorry and will never violate twitter TOS again? Sometimes it depends why it got suspended.
