Hey guys,

I was wondering if anyone can share their good (or sob) stories about getting a refund from Paypal. I recently purchased a online course about making money on Youtube, but the content is quite rubbish.

To make matters worse, the creator of said course will only entertain refunds only ifyou can submit 5 videos for him to review(to prove that you actually made them according to the so-called method).

Should I just open a dispute on Paypal? I really don't wish to make any vids as I feel they are a waste of time and I need to get equipment and software for all that.

Any feedback would be appreciated. Thanks for reading!

You might struggle to get a refund, if their T&Cs outlined their policy.

Well, guess I might have to resort to the old fashion bank chargeback then.

To spend time and money to make those videos is like telling me to throw m
ore money into a well in order to get back my money that I threw into a dumpster.

Actually, PayPal is really lenient when it comes to giving refunds. If you open a case and the other guy doesn't respond within a couple days, they might issue a chargeback on his account. I did it just recently.

Let's hope so. I am pretty sure I'm not the only one asking for a refund. Looking through thr comments in the video course, there are others who also think it is a piece of crap.

Refund policy doesn't mean a thing, if he sells shit. What matters is that how PayPal will see it and whether you can prove your point or not. The seller can't possibly want too many disputes on his PayPal account, because it can affect it negatively, so he might just give you a refund without a fight. If not and PayPal happens to rule against you - as you said - a chargeback via your credit card processor is still in play, which is a lengthier process, but you get your money back eventually.

This is what i'd do in chronological order:
1. Ask for a refund nicely. If no refund ->
2. Ask for a refund while threatening the seller to get the word out on every possible channel: social media, ripoffreport and similar, getting his PayPal shut down etc.
Stage 1: Just bluffing. If no refund ->
Stage 2: Acting on it. If no refund ->
3. PayPal dispute. If no refund ->
4. Chargeback via credit card processor.
