yeah i know i need to take action.. but i need help from the BHW family to help me on what i put on my CV...

I can't say technically i was "self employed" either, i never did pay tax for those earnings.

so what the hell do i put on my cv... does anyone have a COVER LETTER for what i should say when applying. Really wanna shot at getting an interview and impress them with my knowledge on the interview. The job is over a 1000 miles away, so will mean travelling on a plane to get there.. so i need to nail this shit.

what should i do about my CV ? Does anyone have a cover letter ?

Please if you have been through this process before and worked for an agency, any help would b much appreciated.
i fill apricot admin can do a fantastic cover letter if she will .

very talented lady

you need someone with grate ppl skill to get you in ....

Your best option is to be honest .

with a pass lie

exsplain you was self employed as a seo consultant online running a business and felt it time to slow down take a pay cut and offer the skills you no in a working environment.

exsplain all what you done online over the years being self employed , what apps what skills you got .

exsplain the passionate you got with seo and loving the challenges you get daily from seo freelancing , enhance your skills via words ...

good luck.

make the employee fill he needs you , sell your self via your skills , write a cv that fills all the seo gaps that force a interview

exsplain you understand time is money and deadlines are your seo life and understand bugetting indepth.

make surw to mention your always up in the mirning so early getting on with seo tasks , all employee love early birds , exsplain you love long hours and working hard , all employee love hard workers ...

This company if they hire me, does not realise, I am going to give them 210%... this is not just about the money for me.. I know I am good at seo.. when i was freelancing, several seo agencies outsourced there work too me.

However, one thing is frustrating, is i had to sign a NDA contract, another thing, I had no rights, also they took all the credit.. one of the sites is a national website, that has stores all over the country, adverts on tv and based in the financial sector.. i took them to 3rd position on page 1...

Once i got them there, the SEO agency fucked me off and said when they drop in position, they will come back and use my services.. so i was screwed over. As the deal was originally.. i get them to page 1 and once there, they pay maintenance fee.. but they did not. The agency i found out was getting thousands of them a month and only giving me $200...

I want to join an agency, so that i know i am always gonna get paid and have stable income. when i was doing seo, there was always at least 1 client who you had to chase for the money and it drove me insane been told "yeh i will pay tomorrow" cant be bothered with that shit.

I just wanna do my seo job, deliver results.. go home, do my sidework and let the company deal with the clients bullshit if they dont pay or are late on paying.

but i need help from the BHW family to help me on what i put on my CV...
Do you think we like to spoonfeed people?

Can you list a few versions you have written yourself of your CV? Looks like you havent done anything yet and expect the work to be done for you. I could be wrong but you can show us.

How are they going to do the interview for me ? only i can do that !

however, some help on a cv and resume isn't a big ask, so please go and troll else where. I just think you have no idea on what i am talking about.

If it isnt then do it yourself?
Last time I checked resume building and Cv optimization/editing is a task which people charge high dollar rates for.
See here:https://www.google.com/search?ei=gxEuWs7oEYrAmwH1nZDgBg&q=cv+optimization+service&oq=cv+optimization+service or https://www.google.com/search?ei=-hEuWtfcK8KlmQHqnp2ACg&q=cv+editing++service
You can pay them for the "small task" or ask them to do it for free with a big mouth
Im done here.

don't let the door hit you on your ass on the way out! what an idiot! seriouly!

if you can't contribute to the forum and just want to be a clever dick, then piss off and take your shit else way. I am here with a serious questions, I don't need an idiot trying to be a smart ass.

It's quite clear you don't work for an seo agency, so why the f*ck get involved in a thread to just be a dick ? if your life really that sad ? you sound jealous.

Look at Redarrow, look at how he contributes quality and takes time to offer sound advise. Now compare your responses to him. What the fuck is your problem ? get a grip, the only one with a big gob is you! get over yourself, your nothing special.

I'm just kinda curious (no offense intended) why would you want to work at an agency? For me one of the big appeals of this line of work is you that can work from home, without any pants, stoned off your ass and still get paid damn fine nonetheless. Just sayin...

Your just trying to get something for free, on a public forum nonetheless, for which others pay. Guess who becomes the idiot? not to mention deadbeat beggar
Why dont you contribute to the forum first before begging?? Perhaps upgrade to JR vip and then ask again ;)

No offense taking. However, it's about several things.

- Financial security

- Testing my knowledge and skills against others in the agency.

- I wanna see what it's like working in an agency environment.

I have been travelling for 4 years. I have never relied on any one but me. All I have had is my computer, my brain and that's it. 4 years, I have kept myself going and supported myself. However, recently, I find myself drawn to agency life. Some of the girls working at this agency in the social media departments are super hot too!

Wouldn't mind a change of scenery for a year and get some financial stability... I also have done it alone before.. but got tired of the billing and fannying about chasing invoices, blah, blah. Now i just wanna do my work, go home, do my side work, smoke and go bed knowing what i am getting this month from the agency. Anything i get on the side is a major bonus.

i wanna do it for a year and really save up hard for 1 year.

Pay for what ? are you really that much of an idiot ?

I have contacted Apricot about paying for a cv and resume, all i asked was for tips and advise, you really are an idiot.

I can't upgrade to jr vip yet, i need 100 posts, and not gonna spam bullshit like you to get there.

It's amazing how you think you know so much about me ? bahahaha.. i have been travelling for the past 4 years and supported myself all from the knowledge people have shared on this forum. this forum was setup to share content and help others. If noone posted, you wouldn't know half the shit you know today. So get of your high horse, thinking your somewhat superior by been a dick.

if i want to setup a thread asking for tips and advise, then i can do it if i want to do.. what are you going to do to stop me ?

This forum is full of marketers, makes sense to ask for advise before going for a job. This time im really going for it, have 3 days until closing date, so don't have time to fuck around on messaging you back.

What have you been doing the past 4 years ? bet you haven't seen what i've seen :)

don't be bitter.

If a man sees away to a better lifestyle, with more security, having spent the last 4 years, not knowing what i am going to earn month to month, then yes, of course i am going to go for that job. Not only am i going to go for that job, i am going to create a thread like this on a forum asking people to share there wisdom. It's not begging, it's been smart! Anything that increases my chances of securing that job, then hell yes, i am going to ask the question.

why not ? why do you insist i should just sit there in silence and say nothing ? do you think that's been smart ? because where im from, we call that been a dumb ass.

Shy kids get nothing. So I am gonnna focus on nailing this cv, resume and getting this job. success will taste that much better knowing i am making positive moves with my life.

That's just it. You're not going to impress them with your knowledge, if they're worth working for. You will impress them with the results your knowledge and action have achieved. Your last client was 4 years ago? SEO has changed quite a bit in 4 years. What can you show that you're doing, now? Those old reports should still be in your Sent folder, assuming you have the same email. But again, what can you show, now? Showing a company that you know how to setup an email broadcast, honestly isn't all that impressive to anyone that has 20 minutes and access to Youtube. Imagine yourself as the person in charge of hiring for that position. What would someone need to show you, so that you'd have enough confidence in that person, to put them on payroll? How much compensation should this person need? If he/she's really as good as he/she says he/she is, then why is he/she even here?

Is simply talking a good game, enough? Perhaps. But just remember, that's how all those shitlist threads got started. A real life shitlist may make you unemployable.

The KW probably wasn't as difficult if you only charged $200 to rank it.

If you're as good in SEO as you claim to be, stop working for others and start working for yourself. Build your own sites as you are already doing, rank them and get passive income while also selling SEO services to local businesses. You NEED to be able to show results, it's the easiest way to close a client. Most of our SEO sales come from showing results & reviews. Get as many as possible and offer it people.

when i contacted one agency before, he asked for my CV... Then i never sent because i have no experience on my cv for working at an agency. This was about 18 months ago. However, for the new year, i wanna start it off getting into routine and getting stable dollars. I can still do my other stuff at night time. Feel like i need a change of scenery and the agency looks super cool.
fake it until you make it :D

Sorry re-reading this it may have sound as I was a tad bit rude (not my intention). What I'm trying to say is if if you come to a SEO agency saying you'e ranked a nation-wide company #3 on Page 1, they will naturally presume it's a pretty competitive keyword (which generally $200/Mo is quite low to do that), will kill the whole thing as initially the claim is very high, but the actual difficulty of the result is not to par = what I was trying to say.

But again, if I were you - I wouldn't focus on getting hired by a SEO agency. Instead, have SEO agencies hire you instead (as a service, not an employee).

I currently head up SEO at one of the media agencies in London. We do look for experience, however if you've been doing your own projects this is something that is just as good. It will get you in the door at entry level but on this basis we wouldn't hire for more senior roles as we would require stakeholder management skill, presentation skills and project management. Having said that, you would need to have shown something you're doing recently ideally, even if it's your own blog. A lot of our team have their own projects outside of work and we do allocate time for them to work on their own personal projects on a Friday afternoon.

I'm not sure what you're saying to recruiters, but make sure your CV plays up the following three points outside of SEO

- Confidence in presenting and the ability to craft a deck for any audience
- The ability to management multiple projects simultaneously and prioritise recommendations for SEO
- Hunger for learning, training outside of SEO or interests that show you want to self develop

I wouldn't recommend faking too much in an interview, if you get found out on probation it's unlikely to end well.

Agencies who can't understand personal achievements in SEO are missing out on good talent.

Hi,

Just to clarify guys, I have not been away from the SEO game for 4 years and then magically decide one day I wanna join an agency lmao!

I have been travelling the world the past 4 years and have sustained my lifestyle through earning money online. I am at a stage now, I don't need a job, as I will always make money to survive, which is a nice feeling. However, one thing that comes from this lifestyle, is that you never know what your going to get month to month.

One month you can make $5000, then the next month, you may struggle to get $500. I have never, ever had to lend money of my family, parents or even friends. No matter what, I have always made the cash one way or another online.

Since travelling, I have also met others who are doing similar things and even met a couple of guys who where BHW members in Barcelona Spain, which was kinda mad but none the less, it was cool.

Back 4 years ago, before I started travelling, you have all these ideas.. but once your really travelling, chuck all those plans and ideas out of the window, as life starts to take over and meeting new people, going to new places, seeing new things. In this period, I have managed to grow enormously, I have tried a million different "money making" methods on bhw and only a small handful really have worked for me, those that have, have been a lifesaver, so without this forum, I would have never been able to do that or even survive. So thank you BHW.

However, now is the time to get back to "reality" - I am still young. I want a career.

I am up to date on the SEO industry, I am everyday for the past 7 years on a seo forum, blog, watching a youtube video... I am always updating my knowledge. At one point, on a freelancer website, which a lot of you will know, i was in the TOP 50 freelancers. The only thing that stopped me from been in the top 10, was the fact that those above me, had at least 2 or 3 years on the site.

My services made £36,000 that year on that site alone. However, one thing I realised, is that i was under selling my services. Another was the fact the website starting getting more greedy, taking more fees, then a huge amount of 3rd world countries signed up... and the price was a race to the bottom. So eventually, I just said FUCK THIS! I'm out!

I have since been doing my own things. Whilst I still have my own PBN. I now don't use it on anything apart from churn and burn projects.

I have however, managed to develop my own guest post outreach system. I can get quality, realy blogs, any niche, any where and have nearly 90% success rate on securing a post for little to no money.

I believe my guest post strategy alone, would be of value to this agency.

I also develop my own bots and have bots that you wont find anywhere on BHW but these bots are very much needed. I did think for a bit about setting up a BST, to cover the gaps in the market but tbh, it's gonna mean managing licenses, payments, customer service, updating bot regularly, etc, etc.. Which i can't be bothered with at this moment in time.

If I go to an agency, i can earn $45,000 a year. If i make say at least $20,000 online over the year. That is $65,000...

I hope to save at least 40% of that money and go travelling through Thailand may be.

If I like the job after 1 year, i will stay. If I don't, i will leave things on a good note with the agency, so i can get a reference in future and just fuck off to thailand for a year.. either way, i'm not loosing. the only stupid thing to do, would be to do nothing at all.
