It expired because it was a beta. Active beta testers who provided feedback got a copy of the updated version with WP3 updates included, etc.

Ok. Not sure how active I was suppose to be. Did not see those terms and conditions.
But, found that installing WAMP and then installing WP 3.0 worked out much better for me. I can control it instead of it controlling me.
