If you have Adobe Illustrator, the software will convert the PNG to an SVG file. If you're like me, and don't own AI, you can use Inkscape (free opensource). I've used it in the past to quickly convert B&W bitmap PNG files to SVG. And, the good news is that it is available on Windows, Mac and Unix platforms.
I don't think it has a batch processing feature. Anyone care to make a bot that would do that? ;-)
Google convert PNG to SVG inkscape for a bunch of results. It's been awhile since I've done it so the exact steps escape me. However, it isn't difficult.

In my original post, I had linked to an online converter. However, after playing with it, the results were not satisfactory. Inkscape is a much better option. Once you understand the few steps necessary, you'll be able to convert images very quickly.
I doubt it will keep color information but the collection has a TON of black and white files it will easily handle.

Ok, I downloaded the image pack from the suggestion on page 2 of this thread -- read here
At 170MB, it's too large to go through Virus Total. Being on a Mac, I decided to open it. The package only contained all PNG files with the exception of a single jpeg. I've attached a screen capture that shows some of the files listed.
That said, here is a new download link:
