I Need Free screen video capture software to start a youtube campaign. I used camstudio but that worked like some crap. 1 min video with the worst quality and size 2 gb.

Please tell me about a good free video capture sofware that you have used.

CamStudio is great for screen capture actually if you are just doing tutorials. Use These Settings for best results:

Video Options:
CamStudio Lossless Codec 1.5 (downloadable on camstudio site)
Set quality between 65-70
Set Key Frames Every 30 Frames
Caputre at 50 milliseconds
Playback at 20 frames/sec
DESELECT AUTO ADJUST so you can change the above options

Audio Options For Microphone:
Default Input Device
22.05kHz, Stereo, 16-bit
Compressed Format : Lame MP3
Interleave Video and Audio Every 100 milliseconds
Check Mark "Use MCI Recording"

Hope that helps for the size and quality issues with CamStudio

Also after you record it as AVI using CamStudio, then use "Any Video Converter" (not any one, but that's the actual name of the program) which is free on download dot com to convert it to an MPG4 before uploading to youtube or vimeo. It reduces the size by 80% but maintains the quality.

Yes, but EZVid installs http://cranialsoup.blogspot.com/2009/05/opencandy-new-kind-of-adwarespyware.html as well, which is Adware. Not Recommended.
