Hi! I'm a interface designer in Germany and I made a website two years ago which shows my work and some links to linkedin, xing, ...
Unfortunately I can only find it on google when I search for my name + design. But if I search for "interface designer portfolio germany" there are lots of other portfolios and even at page 10 I could not find mine so far. There is not much text on my website other than a very short self-description. Also I made it in HTML+CSS but no wordpress or SEO tools. Is there any chance to get on page one? Where to start?

A good place to start would be adding some content relevant to the keyword phrase you are trying to rank for. Beyond that, start pointing links a the site. Build as many as you can but try to make links that are coming from other authoritative (or at least reputable) websites. "Building links" is a pretty broad statement and there are about 1,000 different ways to do that. Get creative and go for the low hanging fruit first and then maybe move up to some more complicated strategies. Low hanging stuff would be profiles, social sites, and other places where you can physically create a profile and make a link to your portfolio.

    Hope that helps,

    Matt
