Get money back from Lawyer

I hired a lawyer who has fb, YouTube social media audience. As soon as I paid downpayment, I want to cancel the deal as I discovered they lied etc. I want to get my money back.

of course I can call credit card company etc. the amount is $2,500. So I don’t know how much credit card company. I’m willing to go online, give bad reviews, create YouTube video, create fb groups to give his firm bad reputation

also lawyer had an template he used to work on my case, I will release that to internet so people can use it & file their case situation & just replace my name with their own. The case is just for paper file case. Nothing big

will use SEO, hashtag to get after this stupid firm

Don't do that, could get you jail and big fines.

Just sue him but don't start a witch hunt where you can get your ass on jail and paying a lot more than 2500.

Have you expressed your dissatisfaction and asked for a refund?

What was wrong with the work they did?

Did they finish the work for you and then you realised they used a template?

You are pissed off because he charges you $2,500 and maybe did a little job out of some template, in which you believe his work is not worth the stuff he did? Am I wrong?
Here could happen:
1- I’m pretty sure he had you sign 100 pages of these lawyers blah blah that have tons of things between the lines and none of us will ever understand. He has already protected himself and is ready to fight for free because he will represent himself . Ask yourself a question: is it worth it to fight this jerk for $2,500? Is it worth your time and energy to slander him all over YouTube and FB as well as google?
2- if you still pissed off and is unable to get your money or part of it back, and still want to do whatever you suggested in your post, this may be a reputation issue and he could sue you for millions of dollars, depend on whatever he claims the damages costed him by your acts. Again, as point # 1 above: are you ready to fight a none winning fight? Or do you feel it’s better to just move on and never hire such person again? It’s your call but never let anger direct you in your life.
I suggest that you take few days off, if you have some money somewhere else, enjoy your life and see the other beautiful side of this life other than attacking people.
$2,500 is NOTHING to whatever I have paid these lawyers and almost 99% of them never done a good job! One of them sent me a bill of $30,000 claiming this was the time he spent on a folder that I “supposedly” uploaded files on it for him to review on some case I had and the funny thing was I uploaded the files in a different none shared folder! So his shared folder was empty! And at the end of the day, I still had to pay the $30K and don’t ask why.
when I look back, I was furious for quite sometimes but I moved on, the guy got sick and still sick, so I guess karma played it’s role and he is spending the $30K to find a treatment in which I know there is no treatment for such disease.

Lawyers should be regulated by some professional body right? Any chance to file a complaint first?

And don't do anything rash because they are lawyers...

You want to pay $2500 one lawyer to get $2500 from another lawyer.

Better forget about those $2500 and move on.

If a lawyer is doing that kind of work, he must have already covered his back from such things.

Who is your credit card company? Do a chargeback and most likely u should be fine. Amex has a 30 day protection on your purchases if the vendor is not willing to refund

I work with Lawyers all the time, and they can suck, but you will too if you engage in any type of negative scheme.
If he is completely unreasonable, then you have a right to share your story, but the negative shit will never serve you well.
You say "as soon" as you paid you wanted a refund, but did you DO anything to convey that message at that time?
The you say they lied, so was that before or after you paid? What I am getting at here, you need to evaluate what really went on.


If you paid, and his services were rendered, even in part before you notified them, they have a reasonable argument to deny.
If you paid, then discovered this "lie" that you discovered, your argument against him is Breach of Duty, which is the strongest argument you can make. This is where it is important in how you approach it, as no one likes being called a liar.

Whatever you do, leave his template out of this. Don't take advantage, just focus on getting what is fair and do so with integrity. It will get you much further.

Sometime I was in your situation, I paid a lawyer $2,500 to help me get through a legal situation, and even though his work took a few hours, it probably saved my life, fines, and trouble ahead. Just be grateful if someone has helped you get out of a tough situation and be thankful you are okay and not in jail or broke from being sued. Remember these people take years to study what they do, so these templates or whatever you think, is not something that someone else would do by hand for example, these guys know how to do their shit, if you were in trouble and he helped you out, I'd personally just try to get over it.

i second this. picking a legal fight with a lawyer sounds like a terrible idea. try to get your money back and leave it rest.
