Not my tool, and I know some people know of this, but I'm posting here because I just found out about it, and I've seen threads asking for a tool to do something like this.
Basically, the tool unfollows your entire list. There is no progress bar, but an easy way to check how many unfollowed is to open your profile in another tab and reload every few seconds.
Steps:
1. Download the tool: https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/twitter-unfollow/mmbbkpclbfmdacknjehonbfcilcfnkmb?hl=en-US
2. Go to https://twitter.com/following
3. The button to unfollow is hidden behind your profile image. Scroll down until your header is almost completely hidden, but not yet, and you will see "Mass Unfollow" button where your profile image was.
4. Hit the button.
5. There is no progress bar, so check using the method I detailed above.
That's all there is to it. I unfollowed ~1000 people using it. So it works great, and I had no bans, nothing. My account is pretty aged though, so I'd do less with a new account.
