Get List of Ping Servers

Even the world's best blog is nothing if no one can find it. Making sure your pages are indexed by search engines (and optimized for that purpose) is a good start, but you need to let some other guys know, too. Those guys are known as ping servers.

Basically, when you post a new article you "ping" these servers with the address (permalink) of your new post, they then schedule a crawl to include your new post in their database, which is then spidered by others, including search engines.

Ping services allow you to automatically notify blog directories and search engines that your blog has been updated

So, how do you do this? You can do it manually, or you can add a list of ping servers to your blogging engine (most engines support this).

The bigger your ping list the higher the chances of receiving traffic from those sources, so check out the list below and include it on your blog (WordPress users can modify their ping list on the Control Panel, then Options, then Writing).

this is what WP uses

after removing the "w w w ." and sorting it, some of them are duplicated.
better to check it before using it.

nice list, dont ping so mutch but will try this one out

johnride how do u sort them in excel or some software..? just curious

why do you need so big ping lists? take the 10 major sites and save your time.

or use services like mine or others that ping to all sites automaticlly and all you need is to put your url once....
