Well i made a widget at widgetbox some months ago -

And now when i check it, the page has pr 2 and have a ******** link to my old site for which i made it! Its one of the best idea to make a widget as it advertises your site and also gives you high pr backlink!

I guess there would be some problem with your page. Try any rss feed, well my forum's url also worked for me!
