Get Google Plus Emails from OAuth 2.0 Playground

I read on Stack Overflow that you can get someone's Google Plus email from OAuth 2.0 Playground. I used the proper scopes, and user ID but it doesn't return an email field. I can get my own email to come up, but obviously I'm trying to get someone else's email from their User ID. I looked at Google Developer Console, but it's way over my head. Is it possible to do this like they say?
