What are the copywrite issues here. Realise that some don't worry about this - but might change their mind if they got into legal trouble by posting someone else's content...

What's everyone else think about the possible copyright issues? Has this thread turned out to be a bit of a waster which is only any good for using the content for spinning for web 2.0s etc?
Could have been a lot of excitement for nothing!
I suppose if we first check that the content is not published on other sites then unless the original author has legal prove of copyright on their content, we should be safe. Maybe we should also attribute the original source/author. It's a bit worrying though!

Guyz, why so hurry with scraping yahoo voices? If I understand everything right, YV content can be scraped via WayBackMachine any time or I am wrong? And again, why is it dangerous to use scraped yahoo voices content after it is fully de-indexed (I heard 15 Aug date -- this FRI)? Many articles today are de-indexed by Google and de-indexing continuing.

I think that many including myself are slightly concerned that no matter if these articles are de-indexed, they were still written by someone other than us who may or may not have copyright on them, by that I mean proof of. I'm thinking of spinning mine and then tidying the grammar up. I suppose that the more you use on your site the higher the likelihood that you might get noticed by an author of the content.

Well, may be, but may be -- not. There were a lot of contributers (almost all) -- just usual housewives, who dont even know what copyright means. Moreover.. let us take for example this article h t t p : // g o o .g l / 4gOIr7 -- it absolutely unique (regarding big G) and exsists now only in cash of Google and written by some emo girl 4 years ago. Do you really think that some problem can appear within this article? Or still it`s risky? I am not sure that even the contributor herself can remember what did she write 4 years ago and I am not sure she has this article saved anywhere. Sorry for my English, I hope you understood me =). Or am I stupid again?

UPD. What are the worst things that can happen to someone who posted copyrighted content (in this case let us imagine, that the contributor has found his article on your site) -- whats next?

I agree with what you say but the bottom line is this: BHW members alone have scraped between them every article from YV. It's therefore inevitable that if they all use them as they are, there will be some authors who will notice this, it would be stupid to assume other. It's just the risk that we have to consider.
A strange thing happened to me yesterday when I was scraping. I found an article that I liked, I then ran it through a plagiarism checker and found that it was one of my own. Someone had stolen it and put it on Yahoo Voices and it was me who written it. A taste of my own medicine there!

Does anyone know when these cached articles will be permanently deleted from the search engines? I've heard it may be by Friday.

It's Wednesday and all of my keyword are "404. That's an error. That's all we know." :1:

Well, friends, can you tell me if I can post the articles from yahoo voices on my sites while they are only in cash of google (clicking by result leads to yahoodotcom), or I should wait untill they are gone even from cash?

Thank you in advance

First i though to keep it to my self , but voices have allllllot of articles and i can't make a script to copy all articles.

This will work only for some time (until voices data is on google cache)
use site:voices.yahoo.com "keyword" in google and then check cached pages , post them on your site.

there are many crap articles , first read some part of article before posting.

OMG... I just need to go out now to smoke.

Thank You.

The content is slowly getting fewer now, at least it is in my niche. This is one of the most useful shares in a long time. Thanks OP!

Wauw you guys are real blackhatters... LOL

Why don't you just stay on the warriorforum with the rest of the scary google cats, reading this thread (and others) i noticed that 99% of the members here, really have no business calling themselves blackhat SEO or being on a bh forum imho.

Most of you n00bs are afraid of your own shadow, so i would suggest that blackhat SEO is not for you as you don't recognize a gem like this

Or check Yahoo cache :)

This method is still working? Why I cannot find any google cache for voice.yahoo.com?

Lots of people complaining that it's disappearing rapidly on google's cached pages, but there's still 2.5 million results on bing for site:voices.yahoo.com
