This is really popular link, but if we cont. spam them i think they will close that site or something...

I doubt they are going to close it. Implement stricter rules for posting links / signing up perhaps. But at the moment it's easy so get on it while you can.

I just registered there. What do I do with it now? Start getting "friends" and putting my link in the status?
 
That's pretty sweet, can't they just change it to a nofollow or something though?
 
Use it to occasionally drop a link. They will drop you account if you start treating it as a marketing center.

You can put it in the status, on pages or on your profile :)
 
This is rather serious place. of course, they allow students, schoolboys etc. as soon as the latter do not destroy the spirit of the community. Though, as a rule, they value rigorous scientific papers which are published in regular journals with editors etc. I am not sure SEO-motivated spam accounts will survive there in a long race.
 
I've linked every single one of my sites there, so much for loads of link juice. Now they'll be spammed oh so bad.
 
this is prolly a very noob question but this edu link is a profile backlink? please correct me if i am wrong.

Is the homepage linking through to pages that can be crawled to find your link?
