Could someone explain me how I can add a link in the about this album? I've tried <a href>, http:// and copy pasting the article including link from wordpress to there but I can't get it to work.
 
can one put archor text in the about section?
 
It doesn't make a link in the "about this album" section, but if I enter the URL it forms into a link.

You can not use <a href> tag or a hyperlink into the field. Just drop your naked url into the album. That's the way.
