Hey,

I've been working on Upwork for a quite while as a mobile developer. Honestly I was like a rockstar. I got 2-5 invitations every day to projects that I liked and was priced fairly. Even worked for projects for the USPS, and a car manufacturer I can't mention the name of. I've gathered a really broad skillset over the years so I'm able to do everything alone from UIX design to front and backend development.

Then one day... I got a project with a problematic client. Long story short, we closed the project before finish and he gave me a 3 star review. I have 13 reviews, 12 of them are 5 star ratings with very nice reviews, many from several thousand dollar projects. And this little $400 project with the 3 stars ruined my whole profile and my Upwork 'Job Success Rate' went from 100% to 89%, also lost Top Rated Freelancer badge...

Since that happened, I hardly get any projects even if I bid on them. They probably don't even read my proposal because of the 89% Job Success score.

Anyone got some ideas on how could a freelancer like me get projects within a short timeframe without these damn freelancing sites? I know I could start my own company, build reputation and connections over time, etc. I'm just simply not in that financial situation to be able to do that right now.

Thanks
