i first took a song i DLed and then made a video with it in windows movie maker. i added a picture and added credits so it was a few seconds longer than normal. saved it as a wmv and uploaded to youtube with relevant description/tags/title. got flagged and blocked almost instantly.

second time i did the same thing except i reverbed the song in audacity. the song was definitely a little off the original with more echos. same problem, flagged and blocked almost instantly.

tried to dispute too and that didnt work.

3rd time i just took my second attempt and put random title/description/tags and it matched the audio yet again but instead only muted the video.

all done while clearing cookies. soooo what is there left to do?

Use another video editing program. One that allow speeding or slowing of the audio. Slow or speed up the audio by 2 - 3%, you can barely tell the difference. Or try to cut out bits off the very end of it.

Last time I tried it, it worked for me. It was a few months ago though.

someone posted in here a few months ago that changing the pitch by 15% gets the video passed.
I haven't tried it.

Can anyone clarify if speeding/slowing down works?

ok i just slow down a song and it is indeed working.

BUT i did leave title/description/tags blank, im going add the relevant tags soon. we will see if that triggers anything

When I started on YT I did nothing with the sound.

When I look at those vids today most of them have restrictions.
Either they have ads shown at the start or they are blocked in certain countries.

From the moment I started increasing or decreasing the pitch of the sound I practically had no bans because of the audio, no restrictions and no ads next to my vids.

Occasionally a tune with lyrics gets a copyright warning but the system YT uses to recognize this is not waterproof (or their database for this is minor) in my opinion since it's a very small percentage of all my vids with lyrics.
