Currently "My1Voice" is offering a 30-day free trial for virtual phone service. While you need a credit card, it isn't charged during the trial.
To get all calls forwarded directly to your phone without the pesky auto-attendant, only set one extension and turn off the auto-attendant using the site's web tools.
While this doesn't work for SMS, it does work just fine for phone verification.
