I have been a lurker in BHW for probably close to 10 years, but only recently started to post.
My main focus is in German language. I also got some sites in English, but competition is much harder there. In recent years, I had trouble that topical authority wasn't worth much any more in my niche, as the big general sites were outranking most other sites. Additionally, my main sites were stuck on the lower page 1 ranks after the sites got hit during the Dec 20 update. I only recently started being active more again in SEO. The last years I mostly spent coding.
In recent months, I also started to be very active in outreach. In the past, I mostly bought links through agencies. But the quality started to go downhill over the last 5 years or so. Even the more reputable providers mostly seem to sell mediocre links, not good links. So I started building my own through outreach. Took me a while to figure out a good process. I built myself a tool that automated prospecting for me, which massively reduces my time to acquire link. It's kinda funny. Until a few months ago, I couldn't build enough links. Now I'm slowing down building, to keep long term link velocity stable.
