Hello! I have a few websites in a nordic niche. I find that prices for good quality backlinks generally are quite expensive, so I've been doing a fair bit of linkbuilding from english websites.

Does anyone have experience with how well this works? Many of my articles, but not all, do have english terms that I can target. For example "gaming pc", or "espresso" (espressomachines). I am thinking this should work well with google since both of the articles rank for the same keywords.

This is what I've been doing for the past 6 months or so, and I've been getting great results. I am however fairly new into SEO and the linkbuilding is not the only thing I've been doing so I can not really tell if my rankings are due to great content or because of the linkbuilding I've been doing. What are your thoughts on this?

Well, many SEO experts says that you need backlinks from that country domains, IPs, in which you want to rank.
But i saw many local sites ranking good with only English backlinks.
Personally i ranked good in Germany with English only links, but kw is easy.

Yea will definitely do some testing on this. Would you go for something like "espresso" when reviewing espressomachines, or would you rather just go with espressomachines as an anchortext?
