Genuinely Need Some Advice.

Firtstly, I've been roaming the BHW forums for quite a while, & I extenet my humblest gratitude to all the members here for sharing there experiences.

For starters I work at an Indian IT firm that provides outsourcing of services throughout the world, mainly USA. They have in-house marketing and digital marketing departments. I work in SEO here. We are a small team of 8 members working under a larger marketing department. Please mind I joined as a fresher here 18 months back. The seniors here tuaght me a lot about Basic SEO and stuff, but frankly there methods are old, old like they are in 2008-09.

We only do off-page activities that consists of -
- Profile Creation
- Targeted Classified (Country Specific Classifieds)
- Bookmarking
- Micro Blogging
- Social Media

We never use any paid tools, but BHW had given me the opputunity to try Semrush Pro for a month and I took this oppurtunity. The data Semrush provided is too overwhelming for me right now, but domain has good amount of bakclinks ~170K and Authority score of 20.

We constantly work our ass off but is not getting anywhere. After the latest google algorithm update the organic traffic is down by 96%.

Now I don't know what should we do next. The boss thinks we are doing nothing. Keyword postions are down. Traffic is down.

Futhermore, I recently did an on-page on our ranking page that lost many positions in the SERP, but the google won't bump up the page in the SERP. The competitors for the same ranking keywords ranks with 2-3 backlinks and even though my page got about 30-40 backlinks (AS of about ~8-17, non toxic, do-follow), its still not gaining the rankings like before. Linkgraph, Semrush, and Hemmingway - all of them classify the on-page content better than the competitiors, but the SERP ranking are just not bumping up.

I just need someone to point me to the right direction.

How can I share all those things in single thread. Can you nudge me in a right direction if I give you the domain? I just an advice, I will do all the work, research and donkey work.

Seems that the competition may have more authority than your site. Even if they just have 2 backlinks can outrank you. Like parasite SEO. I would tell your team to focus on building more authority to main domain and then the subdomains will take their course on the uprise. Authority score of 20 is good is when you look for low comp keywords but to compete you need more. Can get wikipedia links, Forbes maybe, and other high authority blogs to write about you and link back.

But there are some competitors with very large GAP between the AS that still ranks above us.

Yes but the AS you are looking at is just off url with 2 links, not DA which is what matters from main domain. If I’m not correct. Their DA might be why they are beating you

Okay, I understand what you are saying.

There a website "A" that ranks at postion 4 for the keyword we rank at 80. Both of our pages are money pages with approx. a difference of 10 in page authority and 10 in domain authority.

Thier DA is 24
Ours is 35

For that specific page, their PA is 24 ours is 45. And they only have 3 backlinks to that page. One of them is lost, one is no-follow.
