Is there any source on internet that explained the benefits of the generic keywords ?
You're gonna have to do your own testing for something like this.
You mean like "click here" and domain url? Isn't that to show Google you're not spamming your keyword?
It's just anchor diversification and to look natural, that's about it.
There is nothing natural about generics anymore, got way over used and Google knows it. Here, click here, this... crap like that is not the way to get diversification.
While you can still use these generic "Click here" KW's in minute amounts, it can be a bit bit of a red flag to overdo it, especially if you intend your site to be a long-term investment. There are a lot of ways to get creative with anchor text even with strictly blackhat/automated proceses, like highly skillful generic anchor text spinning (though it can be a bit more work than many want to put in, it is certainly worth it). With whitehat/greyhat manual link building, it's an easier process to feign naturality. IME the best way to figure out how to organize anchor texts for a particular site is to look at the leading website in your niche's. Look at KW density on-page and anchor text ratios and types offpage. I've noticed there is an inverse relationship between exact anchors and on-page kw optimization of when it come to ranking optimally without penalty. Too much of either onpage optimization or excessive exact anchors or heavily repeated generics can impact a site negatively. Long gone are the days of KW stuffing, unless you play it very well.
It's necessary to know that the acceptable anchor text ratios (generic/exact, etc) seem to vary dramatically from niche to niche -- one size does not fit all. Typically, it's a lot better to focus other generics, like single use kw anchors such "Jeff had a neat take on *topic*". Didn't mean to type so much; hopefully my free association word salad got the point across though; I'm drunk.
Combination of generic and brand keywords works well these days, Generic keywords are used for diversification
