Generating traffic

I am curious to this. Let's say you have a website, an instagram, a blog, or whatever. What are the best ways to direct traffic to your site, social media account, that are used these days (internet constantly changing).

If I get some tips I will start doing some research.

I have a lot of idea's varying from blogs to website's to social media and although I think that the promotion methods may vary a little I think all tips can be useful.
