GeneratePress most annoying theme so far

So just bought generate press and i am fucking my brains out figuring out whats where and how, they made it so complicated it's unbelievable, I've used 100+ themes so far and this one is probably one where authors probably competed to make it as difficult to edit header and other shit as possible

yeah, I don't like it either. It's unnecessarily complicated, I feel like it's a theme for coders, programmers, hackers those type of people. It's way too technical for casual users...

yeah i thought it is pretty nice for my new site fuck seems like i've been scammed into buying it as i thought it will be pretty easy and people were feeding me nice information on how good the theme is

I use Free Version and it works well for me

you've not been scammed because the theme IS good. But like I said (at least for me) it is too technical and complicated. I don't think you've been scammed, but I share in your sentiment about it :)

Good thing i haven't went for lifetime purchase right off the bat, waste of money and time
 
I heard a lot of buzz about this theme but It's an just average-looking theme. Its actually for those developers who want to customize it. If you cant customize it you should avoid this theme.

I've installed litespeed cache + litesped server, cloudflare, perfmatters and haven't added anything much and it's only on 80% page speed insights so it's not that fast either. Wasn't expecting it to be such a time waster when it comes to customization, you can't even properly set up a blog it's unbeliveable...

i don't really have favorites i'd just look through directory of themes or codecanyon and pick something good
 
It is a technical theme, and a fantastic one too. But as you say, it may be hard for noobs to fling together a decent site in an hour. It was never meant for noobs that don´t want to spend time learning it.

I am neither a "noob" nor "someone who doesn't wants to spend time" it's just not properly set up a theme. It's absolute hell just to edit the header and menu, to create a blog even worse, seems like i will be giving away 500 licenses for generatepress

Well, tell me one theme that has all the bells and wistles that are way easier to handle, I and many more have not found another that is on par with it, not even Astra.

Generatepress was designed in the same era as Genesis, when people built themes from scratch and themeforest was the go-to for multi-buggy themes that lasted 4 months and WP semi-specialists were becoming tired of that shit.

Nowadays with builders and one-click setup themes this paradigm has switched and regular WP users are abandoning this unnecessarily difficult themes, like Genesis and GP. In fact I recently bought a lifetime Genesis license I've been craving for ages from a gal that was exactly in your point.

I wouldn't recommend it always and personally for fast developing I'm much more into Elementor

But GP with JetEngine and Generateblocks for me is my golden rule in 50% of my niche sites. Speed, stability, and resilience to updates are things that zero themes offer nowadays, except Genesis and Kadence. And their premium support is crazy good. Those guys know their stuff like masters

Well atleast i will offer my customers free generate press at least lol, will still try working out something with generatepress but gp & contabo fucked my day today

there have to be other themes that meet these criteria, it's just that GP is among your favorites, just like Weaver Xtreme is among my favorites (my favorite actually).

Also, if you need GP it means that you have needs above what the average user has, and in my previous post I said that GP is not for casual users like me. But hey, if you like it and need it, that's fine by me! I was just sharing my opinion :)
