Currently on Instagram with over 2 million followers

And being that Facebook owns Instagram. I wanted to get a better understanding of what exactly they did with facebook, as they have been doing a lot of changes on Instagram lately.

Please correct me if i'm wrong.

What I've read and been told is that: Say you have 500,000 followers on facebook, and you post a video. The views on the video will be relatively low - even with 500,000 followers/likes(whatever you guys call it there)..

In order to have more views, you need to set up a PPC campaign (once again I'm new to the facebook world, so I may have the wrong understanding here)

So ESSENTIALLY, if this were true. The people who spent time building huge facebook accounts, were the ones that were negatively impacted..
Regardless, if a facebook account had 1 or 500million followers. They both need to set up a PPC campaign with keywords, and their target audience will be the same.

The reason I ask this is because there has been major changes on Instagram, and I'm wondering on my next move. Is the growth i'm doing there pointless because they MAY just implement the same thing on IG...

    Appreciate any answers and insight.

Instagram is basically a picture sharing site, there you go. No spoon feeding here, you want something, you got to work for it.

Even though Fb owns Ig, it doesn't necessarily mean they will implement the same changes on both platforms as they are quite different each with its own limitations. For example the 6.5k friend limitation on Ig might mean that they won't need to create a system to pick the best images to show on your feed but might show them all.

On Fb the problem was that you can follow as many pages as you want, have 5k friends, be in a lot of groups as well, and all those posts fight for your attention but you won't be able to see them all so they needed to do something about that.

Can't say for sure they will do or won't do something, though if it was me in their shoes I'd try and test different approaches on each platform and see which worked best and maybe after that implement it on both platforms, especially since they are quite different.
