Hey,

What's the deal with youtube if i create a video that has copyrighted music on it. Can i say Copyright Sony Entertainment or whoever it may be or just not use the music at all?

There are millions of copyright protected videos uploaded to YouTube. As per their TOS, you are not supposed to upload copyright protected videos, but who cares! People are uploading it daily. But YouTube will take down your video if they receive any complaint.

Cheers cyberzilla! that's pretty much what i thought but i've had a video or two taken off in the past so i wanted to make sure!

I think you should post a page before video start that video is copyrighted and if you are not using it for profit purpose according to me its ok

Agreed :D

partners get there video auto scanned and added to the database of protected videos so if you steal a video from a partner and re upload the chances of it being removed within an hour of uploading are high.

Cool, thanks everyone, put the video up a few days ago and it's still there anyway :D I havent put any links on it yet so im sure what to do with it!! :P

It has been my experience that even though you tube has the software to detect music and partner videos from being uploaded, your video may not automatically get flagged. I've seen videos with a song up for a year while other times people will get tracked within hours of upload.
