GayPal "Donate" Option Questions

Ok, I know there are a few people in here that use the "donate" option on their sites, because it eliminates the chargeback problem. I'm thinking of using this myself on a project that I'm working on, but I've never used that particular payment method on a site before.

So, a few questions.

1. Do I need to have a seperate account to accept "donations", or can is be linked to my regular account. (A premium account.)

2. Will the payment show, to the customer, as being paid to my normal account, or as being paid to the "fund" that I'm creating?

3. Does Gaypal get stupid about trying to hold "donations", like they do sometimes with normal payments, and, if they do, what preventive actions should I take to avoid this?

Any advice would be appreciated.

If its "donations" then this means its optional and you'll find that you have a VERY low donation rate.
If its not optional to donate then its no longer a donation its a paid subsciption.
People by nature want everything for nothing so if they have an option not to pay then they'll take it.

Thanks for the input, Scoots, but, without going into any details, this really is a "donation" that I'm setting up. I'm not selling anything, and, no, I'm not scamming. A Executive VIP here knows what I'm doing, and has given me some advice on how to accomplish it. I'm sure he would report it to the mods if I was scamming anyone, as I would hope anyone would report a scammer.

The charge appears on CC as:

PAYPAL*XXXXXXXX

where the first 8 digits are of your email address... If you have any symbols they will be removed and the next alpha (not sure about numerical) character(s) will be used. It won't show what fund the donation is going to unless you have specified. It will just say "thank you for your donation". You can under some obscure setting change how it appears though after the PayPal section. So you could make it look like: PAYPAL*abc.com if you wanted to. Pretty sure haven't done the custom way in a while.

I often create donation buttons and enter my clients CC info for billing. Makes things very easy using PayPal to process CC transactions. My clients aren't usually technical people so they just have me handle everything hence why I put in their info.
