Back then it was impossible to change one's gender, so programmers made it impossible for users to change their gender, but any other information could be altered.

Up until now some CMS doesn't allow gender change... Let's laugh at this programmers that are still in the stone age. :D:D:D:p:p:D:D

Yeah because developers own the product and especially the back ends
 
hahaha, I bet they could just change the caption for "original gender circa 1990", that was a pretty good one ;)
 
I'm highly offended by this as I identify as an amber traffic light called Jasmine.
 
If you don't like it.. Change it. That's the great part of being a developer. Download WordPress, patch it to support this idea, then submit your patch to the project, with an explanation as to why you think this is of value. Boom. 100 million+ websites tomorrow might support this important update, because you spent 3-4 hrs to make it happen.

That is how open source works.
 
haha this is so funny omg i almost spit out my venti carmel frappuccino with non fat coconut milk exactly 2 1/2 cups of sugar with 4 chocolate drizzles, 6 1/2 pump of caramel drizzle, 3 expresso shots mixed in, extra whip cream, as well as birthday cake pop mixed in with a bit of strawberries on top, chocolate chips, coconut flakes, pump of vanilla, one pump of hazelnut, banana slices mixed in, chocolate shavings coating the bottom, cinnamon dolce and just a pinch of matcha powder
