I'm in the gaming niche on youtube. Ranking is simple:
1. Make Among Us and Minecraft videos with lots of screaming and laughing at flashing and exploding things. Do a ton of fast-paced abrupt cuts. Edit in a bunch of memes.
2. Title those videos something like: "EPIC MINECRAFT Build Challenge to Dream & PewDiePie!" or "AMONG US but Every Time I'm the Imposter I Sing God Save the Queen to Corpse Husband"
3. Give those videos thumbnails with an oversaturated screenshot and any of the famous youtube/twitch girls with their mouth open in shock.
Bank. Hard.

For Ranking-- You need to apply SEO(Search Engine Optimization)
1.First of all make Catchy Thumbnails.
2.Use catchy titles.
3.Make long Description, add your social media links, add your latest videos links.
4.in the intro use some highlights of your videos.
5.Make suspense so users can watch long.(it increase your ranking)
6.Upload continuously.
7.Last but not least have some patience.
you will definitely get better result.

I don't think that makes much difference. I started 2 new channels recently, one is on an account that's a few years old and the other is on a brand new account, they're growing at about the same rate.
