For some days now I have been postponing cleaning my hdd since i'm short on space.
(I have ssd memory that's why i have small storage)
When downloading a file today(asociated with SEO) a message popped up saying no space available.
This made me think what takes up most storage which of course were my games..

When I went deleting my games at first I couldn't do it. I just couldn't go with the fact that I quit gaming like that.
I wanted a last goodbye from gaming, by gaming another couple hours(it's about FPS). But, I knew that if I would do this, I would never remove the games.

I struggled like this for some time, since FPS was really the only thing I ever got good at(Optic clan).
When I hit delete on the games, i really didn't want to and i pressed cancel straight up. but thank god ssd is so fast it deleted instantly and the download continued. Realising that fps games are really over now is this very hard, it started with my parents forbidding me to play games some years ago and I kept finding ways to bypass them(I loved doing things in secret, that's why I also got into the gamehacking world). Then they took away my ps3 and now I do this myself. In some way I see this as me growing up, first people restricted me and now I do it myself, I'm proud of that. But still it's very hard for me..
I know this isn't really quality content to the forum, but I just wonder. Am I the only one out there??

    -Alex

You don't have to quit gaming all together, i mean it's not an ultimatum but yes it can indeed be a struggle to quit if that is the route you are going for, especially if you play mmo's and get hooked into one. However with the mindset that you are not making a cent playing these games (unless your selling in-game items for real money) makes you want to push to stop even more.

A good tactic you can try is: "I can only buy a new game with IM money."

You'll soon realize what is more important

Just buy a 2nd hard drive.
You can get a 2 TB seagate for under $90. I have a solid state drive for my programs and standard hd for storage.
I will never be deleting unreal tournament 2004.

Well, good for you. Games are a waste of time in general.

Now, I know for myself, if I'm succeeding in IM, business or whatever and making some good $$$, I feel I'm "worthy" enough to endulge myself into playing games I used to play.

Otherwise, I ask myself "Why the hell are you wasting your time playing this shit". In the end it comes to self discipline which you are obviously starting to do which is great!

Now go make some money! :)

I disagree, making money is a much needed reality, but life isn't all about that.

Whats the point of wasting your whole life making money, if you don't take time out to enjoy life itself?

I do understand your need to gain disc space, just work towards making enough money to buy another computer, or an extra hard drive.
There is nothing wrong with gaming, just as long as it isnt taking up your whole life, there is a time for work and a time for play, :)

thanks guys, I'm currently working on a e-commerce site, and very very excited to release it. But I'm really scared of ranking low since I don't have a main product category :/
I did this on purpose tho, since people want to buy as much shit as possible if they trust you and you're cheap

Games are actually helpful because it relieves stress after a hard day of work. You didn't have to get rid of your games all you had to do was use moderation. I had to stop playing mw3 because i only liked to play online and we had to switched to satellite internet (comcast was to high) but i made it my goal that i will make enough money so i can buy comcast internet again and play my games and get back to having fun instead of sitting on a computer waiting for my death.

Hi... just want to know why your parents are forbidding you to play games like you mentioned before... Are you JW? yes it's really hard not play games and it takes time and discipline to get rid of those things...

Anyway, congratulations on your determination.. :)

Well, I really was addicted, and we had clan battles going on PST so I had to stay up all night.
Basically this was my life: I wake up, go to school, come home, eat, ps3, sleep(sometimes) and again.
When I had my exam week I was doing the same shit, but then instead of studying I was playing all day long to keep up with the best. When my marks came they got fucking pissed cuz I didn't pass my exams. from there they started hatin'
    thanks for the congratz :)

Looks like you and I had the same daily routine. I used to play CoD A TON. I finally realized I was playing way too much and cut my playing time to only about 30 minutes and I don't even play everyday anymore either. You don't have to quit gaming altogether, just gotta make a schedule and stick to it.
