Gaming Shorts on Youtube

Sup crew, I started a couple of Youtube channels to try and make a few bucks awhile ago and nothing really took off. I tried some AI slop content and stealing other peoples content like a gentleman does. Nothing really worked out but I've been getting 1k-2k views on some gaming edits I've been putting together on my main channel. I know it's not a lot but even if I don't get it to a monetizable level I still really enjoy making the edits and it's a fun creative outlet for me. I wanted to ask if anybody else has found success on Youtube making shorts or even long form content. If so do you have any advice for a new channel?

I use Davinci Resolve to edit my videos. (free and dope as fuck)

Best results focusing on one niche and posting consistently while making each video as engaging as possible in the first 3–5 seconds. Shorts can grow a channel fast, but long-form builds loyal viewers, so mixing both helps. Keep improving your edits in Resolve and lean into what’s fun—audiences can feel that.
 
Getting a few thousand views means something is clicking. If you enjoy the process, keep at it and double down on what’s working. Try different hooks and watch time strategies to see what sticks. Shorts can be a great way to build traction before moving into long-form.

First of all there are tons of gaming channels , create something in the gaming niche that is quite interesting and trending, always follow trends in the gaming niche...that way your going to be part of the suggestions from other bigger channels.
 
Do not give up. Find something unique niche that has good demand. Then you have a USP.
 
Short or Long does not matter; if you are enjoying creating these videos, then short or long does not matter, trust me. Be consistant, upload on a regular basis and you will see the unseen. Best of luck
 
Since you find it interesting, keep posting but be consistent and learn to hijack trends
