Gaming Guide Blog

I play games day in day out so i can write some good high quality guides. I was wondering if its worth setting up some kind of site/blog which i can then monetize? New to all this, just trying to make some extra cash each month and read that its best to start with something you know alot about such as a hobby or passion.. and well mine is gaming.

Do you think something like this could work? Maybe even a generally guide site. I happen to own the domain EliteGuides.co.uk, would that be good for something like this?

Sounds like a good idea to me, you could even create some guides and try flogging them on your blog or through affiliates

It is definitely a good niche. Might wanna check the competition first in your desired sub-nice(PS3/XBOX/PC ; action/FPS/MMO/RPG, you get the idea). If your quality is good you could have a big chance to make some nice cash. I would also grab the emails and monetize it with CPA. It is a serious work so good luck

Promote a clickbank game guide then see how much traffic you can bring in and how well it converts. I have a lot of success in the gaming niche and most of the cb guides net you a 75% commission.

There are tons of long tail keywords that you can get ranked for very quickly also. The biggest thing that sucks is most of your traffic will be from kids that don't have money.

After you see the potential then make your own product and just switch it out with the one your promoting, but honestly I would just stick with being an affiliate as it cuts a lot of the headache out of your campaign.

Just do it , don't wonder about it. Set you up a nice landing page with a strong call to action, all the perks they will get with the guide, and then build some backlinks for your keywords.

Also don't stop there, I still get lots of commissions from promoting game copying, how to make video games, and becoming a video game tester.

Really the sky is the limit and if you cant break away from playing video games then you will not see the results you want right off the bat. With seo you do the work once and it brings you in money for years.

I found the most traffic comes from articles and web 2.0 sites if you structure them correctly. Long tailed keywords will be your friend always. Just keep multiplying your efforts and the money will follow.

You may be able to make money selling guides. I would suggest giving away a free mini-guide as an optin so you can build lists and pound them with e-mails.

You won't get anything with gaming news/reviews/videos etc if you're trying to sell games, I've been there and done that. You can pull some decent traffic and try to sell from Gamestop/Amazon but both have 1 day cookies and with news/reviews/videos you will hit the visitor too early in the buy cycle to get a payoff, no conversions at all.
