Gameplay monetization

So I was thinking of starting a gameplay channel where I just show my face but don't do commentary, will this be 100% monetizable ? Like I have seen channels that do not even put their face but are still monetized but youtube policy states long running games/software will not be monetized. I am really confused, I do not want to add commentary to videos as I live in a rented house and share a room with 2 other people. All I have is a corner to myself. I honestly don't know what to do. It would be great if people could mark the below yes/no about whether these things are monetizable.

Game play without face and no voice = Yes/No
Game play with face and no voice = Yes/No
Game play with no face but with voice = Yes/No

NO, but yes in some cases.

Game play with face and no voice = Yes/No
NO use of just showing yourself playing game or software for extended periods.

Game play with no face but with voice = Yes/No
this is ok.

now let me tell you my part of the story based on experience and research.

youtube does not necessarily demonetize all channels that do non commentary gameplay.
the problem is you still are in a small risk zone of being demonetized if a manual review happens.
this generally happens to non commentary gameplay channels that look spammy.

some channels are grand fathered and monetized before so for some reason youtube lets them get by.
however their content quality seems good/HQ enough and, so it seems like YT will allow them to stay monetized.

example, these guys(they are monetized for years):
https://www.youtube.com/user/DubStepZzhttps://www.youtube.com/c/Xpertgamingtech/videos
they spam daily high graphics 4k gameplay.
generally when you appy for monetization and if you are no commentary channel, the chance of rejection is high.

what you can do instead is , buy a channel who is already monetization approved and spam your daily gameplays on that.
most likely, as long as it looks HQ , like those examples shown above, you should remain monetized without problems.

Thank you for the reply, just one more thing does the commentary need to be good ? Because my English is very poor. Maybe if I just say few english sentences after every 10 seconds will that be okay ?

long hours of playing game without commentary?
if you did get monetized , it is luck.
as per youtube policies it will cause rejection or demonetization.
some people get away with it.


there is no 100% gaurentee of monetization or that one will stay monetized.
i've had several cases of rejection and some cases of approval.

definitely cant repeat it successfully so there is a problem with content.
you can see several people on google support complaining about getting demonetized for no commentary gamelay videos.

I added my voice at the very start of the videos but that's it. maybe I did get lucky.

It's unlucky that you've had many cases of rejection, you should probably put more time/effort into making content that looks more real. It shouldn't take that much effort.



Just out of curiosity are you selling your accounts or do you have many successful youtube channels?

xpertgamingtech... that guy hit algorithm gold. Its crazy how many of his videos hit 2+million views and all he has to do is drive around in forza 4 with maxed out graphics

i was considering doing something similar but there's no way i would get monetization and once again im paranoid at making new channels in case it has an impact on my main one

Anything you do try to be unique as that is what people are looking for. Who wants a copy of a channel when you can create something meaningful for an audience. My advice is to also push some controller accessories as they can bring in a nice side income. Some of them though have minimums on being an "influencer" so start out small and maybe create a website that has tricks and tips. Welcome every sub in your video in the background and maybe share personal things about yourself so the audience builds a connection to you. Hope some of this helps.............
