I see that advertising is growing at the moment but which social network should I choose to promote it on. Is Facebook okay?

Why does you ID sound like an expert in this field? And yet, here you are, asking for advice.

The account problem for me that hooked up said it was too easy without a hitch.

Facebook nowadays is more used by older people and yes, some of them are out-dated retired dumb asses with money to spare. So, yes, try Facebook Ads for gambling campaigns.
You may most probably need to run an effectively cloaked campaign. But, kindly do not ask me how to run that, as especially nowadays, people do not like to shoot themselves in the foot. Why ? How ? Facebook and Google are omnipresent everywhere > The moment someone openly mentions their effective cloaked campaign strategies, the next moment Facebook (Ads) / Google (Ads) will start to patch up certain things.
Oh, but, yeah, you will find "Ask Me Anything" threads, where the motto is to trap gullible fish into the net and just sell you useless snake oil. Your life, your choices. Try to be a bit wise.

Yes, it is a good source of traffic, but you also need to use another source besides Facebook. Personally, I buy traffic from Trafficstars and I am very satisfied with its high quality and the fact that it brings me a good income.
