If you can only afford a S3 get an S3, there really is not that much difference apart from slightly faster
processor and more mega pixel camera, oh and a useless thing called airwave or something.
Also have a look at the HTC One, a magnificent looking phone.

My friend recently bought a S3 and he was like on the top of the world. Pretty soon the new model (S4) came in and his was extinct.
When they start releasing new products immediately, they lose the momentum of their customers. Now the mindset of most of my friends is like "They're gonna release a new model soon so why bother?".
Of course, if you're loaded with bucks then it won't be a problem
I think that is the main selling point with mobiles, to show offI know it's to make money.

wondering how funny will be to read these kind of threads in 5+ years ..I recently saw a thread for nokia n95 or something similar and although its not as old as 3310 its still funny seeing people arguing over characteristics and prices.

Obviously S4 is better for first time but switching from S3 to S4 not worth alot.

I own a S4 since 2 weeks.. I loved it so far... Octa-Core is superb but try to get a quad-core version its better..
The eyes and hand gestures makes the phone stand out than any other phones in the market..

Yeah I have the s3 and I love it minus batterylife and bloatware. S3 has great features and will stand the test of its age. They both are innovation at its finest when it comes to S3 (motion gestures) s4 (eye gestures) the motion features for both devices make Samsung the leading choice when it comes to a smartphone . Don't believe me check there market share. There will be a s5 I'm sure you will be mad if yoh wait around any longer...
