Hi guys, I've been reading countless threads about gaining twitter followers and have some questions.

Most of the technqieues people here seem to be employing involve sites like twiends or twittfame. I have found that most of those accounts are either not real people, or they unfollow you after a short period of time.

Does anyone have any techniques of getting actual people following you? I decided to combine methods and started using Twidium today and actually had some conversations with people, but this seems rather slow.

I read that twitter allows 1,000 follows/day so I added 1,000 people with ratios favorable for a follow back, but have only gained about 160 today. Is that normal, or are there ways to improve the follows/day count?

I thought this may be a good topic to build on. Since so many of these services are changing policies, or shutting down, actually using twitter and various tools to gain real followers may be the only way to do it.

Its normal for you to follow more people and then less people follow back. The best thing is when you follow them, tweet at them and tell them to follow back. I don't have much followers but with time i'll get there and i'm not using any tool.

The best immediate service that has worked for me for twitter followers is outsourcing to Fiverr people. The quality of the followers are decent but i use it to be more of brand recognition/ego.

For more quality twitter followers i add twitter social plugin to my niche blog/website and/or also use a opt in mailing list and with the opt in email list i sent an immediate email asking to "Get Social" with us. 85% of the time they follow me on twitter and become a fan on facebook

If you want real people to follow back, you just have to follow more people, tweet at them actively and tell them to follow back. That's what i do and it works for me.

What you have to do is add people then if they don't follow you back in 2 days you unfollow them. There are several programs out there that make it easy to unfollow people.

I know this is a dumb question but I assume you are actively Tweeting as well, at least on a daily basis?

AT OP... Following 1000 People Cant give you more than 200-350 followers a day. and Most Important thing is you if you keep adding 1000 and unfollowing most of them who don't follow you by next day generates a lot of risks for you account to go under the twitter security Radar.

You can do one thing if you're doing it manually. Create 5 - 10 Profiles on Twitter with full of Profile Info and Pics to make the profiles look very real & another profile keep aside which one you want to build faster than normal.

Now, Use those 5 - 10 accounts everyday and follow 300-500 people per day. We will easily get around 1k followers a day through this.

Now, Post a Tweet with That One Account's Username and Say, Hey Folks, Thanks For Following me, Now Would you please Follow My Friends Profile ( @I_AM_COOLLL )

This way you can build one account fast with healthy amount of followers,
And even if most of them don't follow that one master account, still you will have them under your regular accounts to monetize them later on.

But Not many joins really. Self Advertisement on twitter means, you are letting people know, You are a spammer.

If Others Tell to follow you, That will keep you Fresh and people will be more interested to follow you.

I Currently Have 65k followers in 200 accounts. and I am promoting one of my clients profile this way, he is getting 400-500 followers/day..

That can be useful in a sense, that most of the real people will follow any referral friends to follow because, they love to be in a group and if they can team up thats good for them. and also Spammers can bite anyhow because, they are just ready to bite any to grab some extra number of followers.

Self advertising is the name of the game on Twitter plus if you tweet they will join. Pump out some tweets at least once a day and use SocialOomph for example to automate the process.

I have a gig on fiverr offering 1k followers in ten days - it's under the username davids356. if you want to do it yourself, id recommend tweetadder - I've had good experiences of it. If I was allowed to post links, I would post my affiliate link but hey.

The good thing about twitter is that you can target people by location, interest, etc. Obviously this isn't 100% accurate.

As for followback ratios, that depends on who you follow and what quality of followers you want. As others have said it also depends on how you use your account - if your timeline is clearly full of automation, people arnt going to follow back! So make some real tweets.

Interacting with people obviously helps too.

I've also found that you can increase your followback ratio up to about 30% if you have the right profile picture!!

As for success of these types of accounts, I have about 23k followers, and I can get alot of communication going on my timeline and DMs, if I'm totally honest though I am still struggling to monetize! But I'm getting there.
