Gaining likes in a newly created Facebook Page?

Hi!

How do you guys get likes to a newly created Facebook page? I tried competitions/giveaways and they seem to be a good way of attracting new likes on pages - however, that requires my page to have an fair amount of likes to start with, or else no one is seeing it - i'm looking for a way to make a page go from 0 likes to atleast 50-100 so I can start the wheel - i know that advertising might be an option, but i'm more after some tricks that just require time and not spending money on ads.

It's not easy when you're starting out. I was there recently. Here's the two things I found worked...

1. Befriend people that you're trying to target to interact with your page. Send them invites.

2. Join relevant groups. Share posts from your page in active groups.

Rinse and repeat.

It's really slow at first, but in time it snowballs... until you reach a point where it's somewhat self-sustaining.

How does this actually helps? I've been sharing my posts to groups and all I get is people liking and commenting on the group post, not the actual page post.
