Basically I'm wanting to increase my follower count from around 1.8K to 10K+. I've bought some fake followers, around half being fake and whilst my profile has had some organic growth, it's very slow and has low'ish engagement. This profile is a personal one in the male model/outdoors/adventure/lifestyle niche and it's extremely important I don't get banned. I was considering using FL however hearing how it can lead to bans I'm gonna stay away. So my question is, is it unreasonable to expect to get to 10K+ just via shoutouts? Any recommendations for good places to look? I've searched and it seems very hit and miss.

If you have a nice account that people want to follow then sure you can get 10k, I got 85k+ from 7 shout outs from a 2 million account. Thing is you need something unique... The account I had was one of a kind.

10k is reasonable, like i told another user u need to find users in your niche that's willing to shout out the page, ill give u the same example i gave him. I'm in the hip hop niche...the males that follow the models that i know obviously are in tuned to hip hop music because the models are, so they interact with my post on the page because it's of there interest.
Now if i were to take them same users and put them on your page, yea maybe some of them will interact with the post but it's not of there interest so the engagement would be different. so find some people with a big following ...pay them if u have too, then the page will grow organically from there from them tagging there friends in post of yours.

wow that's insane!! If you don't mind me asking, what account was it you got the shoutouts from? Thanks for the links. I've gone and messaged someone about possible shoutouts from one of the sites.

I think you've missed the point of the post. It's about relevance and the uniqueness of your content. Just because he got 85k followers doesn't mean you'll get the same results
That's true. But also consider that the engagement on IG is pretty high compared to the other bigger social networks.
So with that said, you can still get that many followers with average content if buy several s/o's from accounts that have 1 million followers.
But nowadays, I pretty much prefer quality and relevance over building 100k accounts that have untargetted followers.
