I've noticed recently that there are sites that write about (Not review) about cool products and refer to the original sites. How do these people make money from it as they are not sellling the product. Is it the ad revenue they are getting?

Thanks guys!

It's called affiliate marketing, their link identifies them to the retailer and they earn a commission on each sale that comes from their site

As trevormorley said they are getting commission if you buy the product via their link.
Mouse over a link and you will see that it's showing www.whatever.com/ref=12323 or /r something.
That "r" stands for referral and the rest is the ID, however there are some smart people who take the names of the products as their referral ids.
For example if you are trying to sell something on "whatever".com you take the same name and then the id would be something lik whatever.com/ref=whatever or whateverreview etc...

Sorry if I'm not clear, but reread it few times and you should get what I'm saying :P
