G00gle Tr3nds Tactic

Anyone think this would work with just a wordpress blog hosted on wordpress.com?

this is great, but would need to be automated as a long-term income stream. i'm too lazy to do "work" like rewrite articles all day. great trend riding technique though!

This is one of the best tips I have ever found! Just tried it, took me 10 minutes and in 20 minutes I have had 150 new visitors to my blog for a single keyword. Thanks!
Could you please share where your visitors came from? Thanks!

Yes, would love anybody that knows how to do this to post! Some way of having RSS feeds, bundled, rewritten and posted!

Collect the trend articles in the morning, handover to some rewriting person, get it back within some 5 hours and post to your site... Normally some trend keywords will active for some days... What you think?

So how did it go?

I also made a test yesterday, indexed for a trend keyword but got none visitors as all the higher authority news sites started writing about it, so they ranked better than me. Kinda expected it though, that is why I was asking about the traffic source because it seems impossible to me to outrank all the higher authority sites and get traffic from google.

Will keep testing :)

Just a little update-- I had told people in an earlier post that this tactic would not work on a Pr-Less Blog-- So I thought-- I have been using this method to work on one of my sites that has a Pr-5 and it works great-- However I was unable to get it to work on a brand new blog I had created. After months of recording Zero Search Engine Traffic I finally located the problem-- My wordpress theme came with a default setting which blocked my Blog from being accessed by search engines-- I removed this check and have so far received 201 Organic visits from google. So if this is not working for you and you are using a wordpress blog-- you may want to check your Privacy Settings to make sure you haven't blocked the search engines like I was. I will update my final visitor count tomorrow-- Sorry everyone for mis-informing!

Well the domain was purchased this year-- maybe 3 months ago-- I had a few pages indexed from using digg. Which I did when I first got it. Total traffic I received yesterday was 1,672 visitors-- Organic-Nonpaid. My blog has no Pr--

i can tell you that working with G T is not as easy as some people think.

The "problem" here is TIME. We're dealing with very short-lived trends, some of them peak in a matter of two hours or a max three...there is not even time to create a site...let aside getting a side INDEXED withing two hours :)

They key would be to have a 100% automated system. I am actually sitting on a project right now. This is something where you have to be FAAAAST if you want to max out profits.

My biggest problem was not indexing but surpassing the other results in the SERPS

the best thing you can do, scrape the existing sites which come up for the KW...and "clone" their meta tags/KW etc....

However...you have a point...it might be VERY hard to actually surpass the SERPs....say, you have a brandnew, dynamic site. You get a keyword which JUST appeared on GT. Now your site gets built dynamically, given its SEO optimized and nice KW density, the works.
How on earth would you want to surpass older, established sites with PR...

there is only TWO solutions:

1) Build your site ---> Auto social BM, digg etc..etc.. til your server smokes, to take advantage of social traffic
2) auto build adwords campaign for the KW and drive traffic to your just built site

i am well impressed with this, although i think it's going to be a bit challenging finding the right topic to rank and then make money on the back of it. In any case, i will give it a go and let you know the results... let's hope it doesn't take too long

Actually people. Yesterday I was on the top rank twice yesterday with a pr less blog. Other times I was between the 1st and 3rd page. However I didn't stay there long as other sites knocked me out the way. However the pages after the first three results are placed in order by a computer generated program. So with this in mind--- keep your meta tags together and you will start receiving traffic instantly-- I had an adsense CTR of 2.21%. Only thing was the niche only pays 17 cents per click-- Not bad though for a site I never really planned on monetizing but to do just as a hobby. Not only that but I received my 1st link spam and two pr4 blogs asked to do a link exchange with me. Also many people have been linking to my blog and leaving comments like "I like the design", "Nice writing style etc." The main thing is having a good ping list after you publish a page and alerts the engines when you publish something fresh. The only other thing I could see that would be beneficial is if we knew what trends were about to break before hand. What I have been doing is keeping Cnn on right by my computer and typing fast as they break something new!! Hope this helps! Cheers!

m2s,

how did you do it? You manually build your site after you spot a trend?

well i have a website with a very good name that deals with google trends-- so all I do is make a post on my blog after I see a trend-- what I did yesterday was make 4 posts-- i took the top two on the list-- then found 2 in middle-- Site is already built-- just about making posts-- what i have noticed is that-- there are really just a few main sites that are always on the top== they are using sneaky blackhat tricks like super small text with hyperlinks and anchor text-- they constantly are getting top positions-- The only thing I cannot figure out is why they are doing it-- I visited the websites and their was no adsense-- or anything to monetize the traffic-- so only other thing I can think is that they are are building up the traffic to sell site at later date- not sure.

Nice nice!!!! I am glad we are thinking the same way. This is what I am talking about. I dont mind some manual work, like 1-2 minutes to "rewrite" (nahhh) the article. The rest should be automatic. This is what I am working on actually :).

Ok Guys, here is two pictures I just taken from Google Trends India... What you think?
