G00gle Places-Building backlinks to profile?

Has anyone here had success building backlinks to a G Places profile and had this bring them into the 7 box for competitive keywords?

Proof that this works? Any feedback would help. I have built only about 10 so far and have not seen a change so was wondering if anyone else has definitely seen improvement to a Places listing by building links to it?

The most significant backlinks you can create are from local directories. My attempts to have results otherwise didn't bring solid results.

Other thing important is to have reviews not only at Google places but also in the directories you are listings the business.

Once you have these URL's you can ping them and do a little bookmarking. Bookmarking the listings helped me a little. But IT DOES DEPEND ON THE KEYWORDS.

I got solo in Google places due to keywords... anything else.

Don't forget to optimize the photos and videos you upload and have a coupon. Based on the keyword you have to use everything you have.
