G Webmasters tools and backlinks

Hi,

I wonder one thing. On g webmaster tools I have 1075 backlinks. When I type in G link:mywebsite.c0m I have 7 links. I wonder why is the difference. What do you guys think ? My backlinks are a mix of whitehat/blackhat methods. On Yah00 site explorer I have 2000+ backlinks.

Google doesn't show all your links in Webmasters Tools, and I've never found that search string accurate myself.

I understand that google doesn't show all my backlinks but why is the big difference between webmasters tools and google search ? It is one company right ? They are supposed to show the same thing.

just a note: webmaster tools for link reporting is rather accurate for me ( within 95% ). on the search, it's a policy of google not to report everything ( they are slowly and effectively killing off spammers and people whom game the engines ), I have never seen a google search link report that was even slightly right.
