G analytics

I'm having trouble with my G analytics.
When I view my report, it's showing that I have only had one visit. I know this isn't the case because I've been on the site as well as a couple friends I've showed it to (IPs in different countries even).
The account is only a couple days old, does it take time to start working?

I inserted the code into header manually, and then used a plugin to insert when I noticed it wasn't working.
It seems like it worked for an instant, recording the one visitor (me) and then stopped working completely.
I know I probably messed it up somehow, but can't figure out where I went wrong.

Could this be something to do with my sitemap? I don't have urls canonicalized yet.

Any troubleshooting ideas that could be helpful?

Nevermind, I was just being impatient and it started working after a couple days.
