As most of you would know that BTC has crossed the magical number of $20,000. Since Eth is the number 2 coin and back in 2017 when BTC was 20k, Eth was around $1.4K. What you guys think will be the price of Ethereum now that BTC has reached new heights. Will ETH be able to reach $1.4K or even $2k?

Wait until the "proof of stake" eth2.0 begins to work as should and the price will shoot!

For full migration you will have to wait 2-3 years or more. We will have another bear market until then

Nobody knows, but my irrelevant opinion is that ETH will go over 3000. My target for this cycle is 5500 usd. There are calculations for 10000, but that seems like too much considering the current state of the Ethereum blockchain.

in 2021? or 2022?

I start to research a lot latest weeks about crypto, ETH is just popular, but not something I would put my money in, I use to have, I exchange all to another coin and I am very happy with that.

Just compare what Elrond does vs what ETH does. I invest 1-2 weeks ago, 5k, now I cashout my 5k back and rolling just the profit which is already more than 3k and growing weekly, staking it forever. Crypto is not hard if you know to read between news, at least at my first attempt.

You are talking just from the price perspective.

I'd say ETH has better chances to last long term even comparing it to Bitcoin. The developers decide where they put the work. And currently most of them are with ETH

No, I am talking about infrastructure point of view, scalability, developers, investors, future of it, and such. Anyway, everyone is free to do whatever they want with their money, was just a personal opinion.

True, You can't compare Eth with other coins. Plus once ETH 2.0 staking is made public its prices will sky-rocket. Though you can still lock your funds and earn an interest of 15% - 20% though there is a risk of bad nodes.

Yes. Just a matter of time and when.

What happens to those holding ether today once eth 2.0 is fully functional ?

Currently, you can lock your funds into Eth 2.0. But you wont be able to withdraw them untill 2021-2022 when withdrawal are enabled. That is the reason they are offering very high interest rates for early adopters.

The only issues are, one you dont know when the withdrawals will be enabled. Second, there is a chance of bad node in smart contracts (glitch) and some unlucky guy may loose all of his funds.

Technical aspects
In recent days, transaction fees on the Ethereum network have been breaking all records and historical highs. In these conditions, it is becoming increasingly difficult for smart contract developers to maintain their applications. In turn, the Elrond network strives for low transaction costs as one of the fundamental factors of a large network. During mass stress tests, the Elrond network showed an unsurpassed result — 263 thousand transactions per second. This is 10 times more than the international payment system Visa, which is able to process up to 25 thousand transactions per second. Comparison with Ethereum is even more stunning: Ethereum is limited to 20 transactions per second, so Elrond is 10000 times faster. And this limitation won’t be solved until the ETH 2.0 Phase 1 — sharding — will be fully implemented. Till that, there will be a bottleneck in the network, which not only will slow transaction processing, but will also push the already high fees up.

Just basic Google search ... few years of work only and they even not warm-up, on phase 3 + Maiar they will skyrocket. No need to know shit about crypto, it's a fact, basic investment my friend. Good luck, I`m out.

I understand. The way you worded that statement was just related to price. You might be right about it. I need to research more.

In case of crypto, no predictions are going to be accurate. No matter how hard once claims to be an expert in the subject. It's just not possible to accurately predict the price.

Thank you but I've already staked some funds in a pool. What I meant is those currently holding eth ...will they have to trade it in for eth 2.0 ?

it will be back to $4000 in any case I've even spread my saving to 4 different wallets like ownr wallet, coinomi, binance, wombat

It can even cross current bitcoin prices. Hold for as long as possible.
