I was just checking some stats and noticed a funny/surprising thing I thought I'd share!
Years ago I had a site/blog and used feedburner to gather email subscribers for the feed. This site has been dead and gone for 3 years and wasn't active for another year or 2 before that and I forgot all about the feedburner subs.
So a couple weeks ago I start building a new site on that domain and start seeing activity from feedburner and I'm like: "WTH?!" so I login to feedburner and see that the feed still has 643 subs, 137 of whom opened the email and 8 clicked on the link!
Crazy! A 21% open rate and a 1% CTR on a 4 year old dead unrelated email list on a dead platform? I love it! And they say email marketing is dead
