That method works great! I have been doing it secretly with my boys for years! Google doesn't even check if people do this, so it's very simple and anyone can make money doing it!!

Hey don't crush my dreams. I've always had an interest in SEO which is why I've been doing it for as long as I have, just not at the stage yet in my life financially speaking to where I can comfortably go out and start an actual company. Trust me my friend though, one day, it shall happen.
