Here a little topic, to give you an occasion to quote your best epic fails ever !

It will help people to not do the same mistakes as you did.

Here's mine i related about on another topic and i found out that i was far to be lonely in lamicity :D

I rank 2nd in a keyword which get 48 queries a month ! I was expecting 1 200 000 according to the Adword Tools, i didn't tick "exact" :)

the broad/exact confusion is a classic.
It happened also to me so many times......

I don't understand why google doesn't set "exact" as the default option...
"broad" is so useless

Maybe because this is the "AdWords keyword tool". The broad option shows you how many potential impressions of your ad you can get if you target your keyword with AdWords.
Google meant it for adwords in the first place, not for you to choose what keyword to rank for with SEO :)

LOL at this one, I'm sure every SB owner has done this already. Every time I harvest a list some of my blogs end up in it, and I only realize it when I see my own spam comments in my admin dashboard :D
 
lol i never knew the difference between exact and broad search
i was expecting 60,000 + visitors

Now I understand. It sounded too weird that google was helping so much for playing the SERP game :p
Adwords must be the real reason this tool exists.
 
i had a site with 720 exact searches/month, copy/paste content, only 2 posts and it was making 4-8 euros /day. Traffic like 50-60 UV/day
i had a similar website with 1900 exact searches/month (similar keyword), only good fresh unique content, made only what google "wants" and it was making only 1-2 euros per week. traffic like 10-20 per day
both had second position in google all the time

how about trusting Adword keyword tool :|
 
I ranked number #3 for a keyword with 3+ mln monthly searches, but.... but 95% of traffic was from Turkey. Still get 70-80 daily visitors from this campaign. )))

how did/do you monetize this traffic?
I had a site that was getting 300 visits a day from Russia, but I tested and tested a bunch of ways to monetize it that all failed. after about 6 weeks the traffic was gone. no money earned.

2 Years back:
20+ EMDs bought after checking Google Keyword Tools... with broad ticked...
Exact they have got maybe 20 searches a day all together. At least I find out my mistake before doing any serious SEO to them, so no big loss...
 
registered centafold.c*m thinking people might mistype centerfold. Anyway 0 people mistyped it LOL. It's available if anyone wants it :)
