I'm not gon mention any names (yet), but the credit reporting cant be this bad, I'm so mad, and I'm no newbie either I been with them for years now.... it's weird cause you'd have a good conversion rate, and all the sudden it drops, you just know they shaving, or better yet if you have multiple accounts with them, cmon one account converts better than other with identical offers? I guess I just want to say is, be careful with cpa companies, they're quick to shave leads, and you wont even know, compare same offers with different networks for conversion, you might start something, and it appears ur not profitable, but when in reality if they were reporting all the leads, you'd be good... think of all possibilities wasted? be careful cpa companies are dirty....

Please give out a name, so we'll stay away. rep added for bringing this up.

it's owned by a huge (ex) spammer... don't get me wrong, it's a great company, you just have to be careful, they're fucking dirty...

well, I ran into someone thats using some kind of a bot to do cpa offers. That seems like ultimate get back to me. lol.

I think the "dirty factor" is part of CPA offers; especially with collecting leads, emails, zips, etc. As an affiliate, the handicap we have is that we do not get to define what is "quality" traffic.

Oh ya, and it's not like the aff networks give any tips on this either. lol! Anyhow, I think the only solid way to deal with is is to get in good with your AM.

The non adult industry seems to mirror the behavior of the adult industry but about 5 or 6 years later. Shaving is not only common but necessary when running an affiliate program. With the amount of fraud * cough cough * that is committed against these companies, it has to be done to stay competitive and alive. Everyone does it and no one will stop unless they all stop at once, which of course they never will.

The best advice is definitely make friends with your rep, talk to them as much as they will talk to you. When I ran an adult affiliate program, we called it a "bonus". "How much are we going to bonus him?" average was 10% but it was a simple as punching in a number from 0-100 to determine the % of the shave.

When I left that company I took a stack of millions of dollars of invoices showing how much traffic was sent, and how much we really paid for it, with the % and bonus hand written on each one and signed by the owner of the company.

We were paying $35-$40 per signup, in fact we were only paying $25 usually, but people would rather convert less and get paid higher signup fees, than more and less, if you follow. With a 50% conversion from trial to paid, we would have gone broke in two months. That is why when you see $70 Sundays or whatever, believe me, its all being made up somewhere.

Hmm, some names would be useful to me. I'm just getting started with CPA's, should I be reconsidering?

Oh yes, they're all quality CPA networks. There's also Hydra, Azoogle, MaxBounty, RocketProfit, PrimaryAds, FluxAds, CPA Empire, and many more.

CPA Storm is pretty good; may go meet with my AM at ASW next weekend in Vegas. MaxBounty is cool, Copeac.. Azoogle has been in a rough patch for the past few months..

NeverBlue Ads is cool, as is Market Leverage. I ran the SAME product on two different networks and truly realized how much of a difference a bad-ass landing page makes.

Hadn't even heard of some of the networks in Essential's sig. Gonna check'em out!

Thanks!

seems like... shoemoney has talked about this...

shaving is just a part of the industry. but cpa empire is one of the scammiest companies around.
