You can reduce the fees manually but it takes time to get confirmed. Just moved my funds to electrum and one thing I noticed is it's always cheaper and faster in LocalBitcoins. I've transferred funds from LocalBitcoins and it cost 15-20 cents fees for $300.

yea fees have been abnormal but there’s a way to go around it, only transact when pool is not jammed I had paid 200 sats and have paid 21k sats so it all depends when you transact

The was the so called halving where miners get 50% previous rewards. Obviously this will make fees more expensive. Someone's spending $$$ to mine those coins, they don't come for free.

Yes this really sucks. Compared to BTC, ETH has very low fees, gets confirmed pretty fast. Yet people use BTC all the time, just because it has a first mover advantage.
