What I don't understand is how they found it. I specifically blocked many web crawlers, used private domain registration, different hosts, etc. Each site had a different robots.txt, CMS or plain HTML. Different niches and content on each site. Built completely by hand with no footprint what-so-ever. Only two things come to mind, either:

1) They watched domains being sold via auction, and see where the domain points to in the coming months.

or

2) Have a custom built web crawler targeting my money site, and manually sorted through all the domains.

There's definitely a service here for those knowledgeable enough to build it - "discrete blog network." Word of caution to those in the crosshairs. I'll report back to what happens next.

It's most likely a scam, ask for some evidence, 100% sure they won't even reply back

What was the email address used - only asking as you said it was a tor mail address, only one I remember is Tormail and that was shut down last August.
 
The thing to remember is that anyone who threatens you and asks for money over the internet, can't provide any guarantee that they won't do what they say anyway. Just don't respond.

Crazy. I don't normally compliment scammers but this is something that would get most SEO's paranoid out of their mind. That is, if we didn't have BHW to warn us about these assholes.

I'd do what duffer said, just delete and move on. You could send him a threatening letter about extortion but if his tracks are covered he may report your shit just for kicks.

I think one should sue FB for the new-gen spam!

The present hole on the FB email system is exposing everyone to those scammers. I am getting some nasty emails in recent times on a gmail account which was used only for very personal things like pp and buying on ebay etc. But over the years the spam was almost only 25% of what it is now. The same email was used on FB, but that FB account was not used since last 2 years may be, and the present gmail account that I'm using for FB is getting almost similar amount of spam -- a lot!

Of course I do not open them so I don't know if the content is similar too. I just either send them to spam, or create a filter to delete them on auto.
